The Cyber Resilience Centre is a joint venture between Greater Manchester Police (GMP) and Manchester Digital.
We are a non-profit organisation which aims to support businesses by providing the highest standards in leadership, integration and collaboration across the cyber eco-system in Greater Manchester and exists to support, innovate, protect and help grow businesses safely.
The Cyber Resilience Centre has an influential network of experienced partners at senior level across many sectors, including Banks, Financial and Professional Services, Cyber Security Providers, the North West Regional Organised Crime Unit (NWROCU), Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) and local Universities through our collaboration with the Greater Manchester Cyber Foundry.
The work of the Cyber Resilience Centre is overseen by a Governance & Advisory Board which is drawn from representatives across policing and leading technology companies to help us prioritise our work.

Network Security
Similar to the corporate internet investigation, this simulated reconnaissance exercise focuses on an individual or individuals within your organisations. Best suited for high value targets, like CEOs or CFOs (those who could be of most interest to a malicious attack) . We investigate all aspects of their internet profile and produce attack methodologies based on this. This simulates what an attacker would do when trying to compromise an individual. We will report our findings, how we would weaponise the information to conduct a cyber- attack against the individual and recommendations to take to help mitigate the attack vectors we have identified and reduce the attack surface.
Security Awareness
Our security awareness training covers a whole host of cybersecurity subjects, from passwords and phishing to spoofed websites and multi-factor authentication. However, our Ethical Hacking Students don’t deliver this in a mundane lecture full of technical jargon. We speak normal language, are fun and translate cyber security advice into easy to understand snippets to increase awareness across your organisation. Each session is tailored to our audience, so if you are part of a Board for a National company or a small team of hairdressers looking for some initial advice then we will be able to help - one size does not fit all. Our fully tailored session will address the issues you’re facing in your sector.
Vulnerability Management
This service attempts to recreate an attack originating from a user who is connected to the internal network. This stage simulates two types of attacker: an attacker who has successfully breached the network perimeter and is attempting to exploit any services present there; and an insider threat from an employee.The internal assessment we propose will investigate these areas highlighting vulnerabilities present on your internal network. Our final report explains and discusses our methodology, our findings and mitigation advice to better secure your internal network.
Web Application Security
This service assesses your web application (website) for vulnerabilities. Based on an industry standard we will assess the top 10 security risks to web applications and attempt to identity vulnerabilities. Our final report will document our methodology, recommendations and advice going forward. As per the previous vulnerability assessments these are not to be thought as of penetration tests and as above our IASME Trusted Partners network can help with this. Our vulnerability assessments will help you identify areas of weakness if they exist which allows testers to focus on larger and more complex exploit chains, giving you maximum value from both services.
